Choral FUNdamentals
A workshop for those new to group singing, or those who have been doing it a while, but would like to brush up on their skills.

Often people tell me that they would like to join a choir or sing along at a jam, but aren't sure if they feel confident enough to jump in with both feet. I understand. It can be intimidating singing with a group - especially if you have never done it before. Others tell me they enjoy singing in a group, but don't always feel that confident. If they understood more about singing and knew some choir tips and tricks, it would make their experience easier and more enjoyable.
In response to this, I am offering a small group 5-week choir skills program which will cover the FUNdamenatals of singing with others. This is not a choir, although we will certainly get practice singing songs together.
Every week we will go through different concepts related to choir and group singing, so you get an understanding of your voice, and how to fit in with a variety of group singing situations.

The program will be held in small groups, so you get lots of time to ask questions, get feedback, and have a personalized experience.
Sessions will be in Sharon's home studio in Qualicum Beach. The program will run for two hours, once a week, for five weeks. The fee for the full session is $100.
*I am currently collecting a waiting list for my next program. If you are interested, please fill out the form below and you will be contacted when the next program is scheduled.

Some of the topics we will cover in the program include:
- Fundamentals of safe and expressive singing. ( So your voice doesn't hurt after choir.)
- How to know if you are a soprano, alto, tenor, or bass singer.
- How harmony works.
- How to blend your voice with others.
- Timing and rhythm.
- We will even look at a bit of sheet music so you have an understanding of what all those dots and lines mean.
If it sounds like a lot, don't worry. People who have previously attended my choirs and workshops will assure you that I keep my programs safe and fun, while you learn what you need to take your singing to the next step. Oh; I will also give you a bunch of support material to help you, so you can continue your learning at home.
If you would like more information or to be added to the waiting list, please fill in the contact form below. Sharon will contact you back soon, and together we can get begin the journey of group singing.
