"Sing again, with your dear voice revealing a tone of some world far from ours, where music and moonlight and feeling are one." - Percy Shelley

There is information about my vocal lesson programs below, and I am always happy to answer your email if you have any questions at all.
Sharon Marie Tomczyk
Over the past months I have been adapting and learning new ways of delivering lessons, choirs, and programs. Starting in June 2020 I will be offering both Video (Zoom) based vocal lessons and coaching, and a small number of one-on-one studio lessons for those who feel comfortable with it.
Virtual Lessons: These will be offered in either 45 or 60-minute sessions and will be done through the Zoom Video Platform. To get the most out of the lessons, it is ideal if students have a place they can sing, that is free of distractions, and in a location where they feel comfortable using their voice fully. Video lessons are best done through a computer or laptop with a good video and audio pick-up and a screen that is easy to see while standing a few feet away from the device. (Optional) Singing while using headphones that have a good quality built-in microphone can also help with the audio quality of the lessons. A fast and reliable internet will help avoid delays in the video and audio during the lesson. Video lessons can be recorded by the student for future reference or for further practice.
In-Studio Lessons : Sharon will offer in-studio lessons to singers who prefer to meet in person. Sharon will follow the requirements set out by Worksafe BC related to Covid 19 precautions and in-person sessions.
The studio allows for a distance of 6-8+ feet between the instructor and the student during the lesson.
All hard surfaces that will be in contact with the students or teacher will be thoroughly cleaned between each lesson.
A hepa and UV air filtration system will be operating in the studio during the lesson.
A freshly cleaned washroom with sanitizer will be available for students for hand washing.
If either the student or instructor has any symptoms of cold or flu, the lesson will be postponed or switched to a video session.
*Please note that the use of masks in not possible during an effective vocal lesson. If students feel more comfortable wearing masks in pubic, the video option might be the preferred platform for instruction.

About Our Lessons
Vocal lessons through Esteem Vocals, are designed for singers who want to get a good foundation in vocal technique, and improve their existing skill. Students new to vocal lessons will receive instruction on singing safely, range, pitch, rhythm, and voice control. As students move through their lessons the focus can include vocal dynamics, voice strengthening, vibrato, and stage presence. More advanced students, may be interested in learning harmony, vocal embellishments and runs, improvisation and performance singing.
All lessons are tailored to the needs and goals of the student, with a focus on singing safely, singing freely, and singing confidently. Students choose the style and genre of music they wish to sing, with guidance from the teacher if required. Whether it be Rock or Pop, Jazz or Folk, we want to ensure you are singing songs that you enjoy, and that lets your voice shine.
Typically students will book one lesson per week. (Although that is flexible) Students attending on-going lessons will receive information about singing technique etc, and MP3 practice tracks are available with exercises we covered in the lesson, to allow for easy practice at home.
Sharon Marie is passionate about guiding people towards safe vocal self-expression. Her lessons are playful, yet structured, and she teaches in a way that allows students to easily apply the vocal techniques to all of their singing, in part by encouraging the students towards gentle self-assessment.
